How to find out who’s linking to you in 60 seconds

I have an easy hands-on video tip for you today. Lesson #7 of my “Learn in 60 Seconds” video series shows you how to use a tool like SEOMoz’s Open Site Explorer to find out how many other websites/web properties link to your own. This is a great way to benchmark interest in your properties from a traditional SEO linking sense. It’s also a great way to see if your partners are indeed linking to your web property without having to look through their sites. I apologize for my cracking voice ahead of time. I still haven’t been able to shake off the cold I got a few weeks ago (even lost my voice completely at one point). Slowly, it’s getting better.

Track and filter live event hashtag tweets in 60 seconds

This week’s “Learn in 60 Seconds” video demonstrates how to track multiple event hashtags in real-time and then filter them, also in real-time. The tool is Tweetdeck, which can be downloaded for free. The sample live event I chose for the video is the 2011 Canadian Federal Election, which happens to be taking place as I write this.
